Sitaram Jindal Foundation is a renowned institute serving the society in the different spheres including health, rural development and education. The charitable institute has setup many hospitals, colleges, schools and welfare programs for the poor and underprivileged. Now for the last four decades it has been financially aiding the poor meritorious students in India. According to an estimate, it provides scholarships to more than 12000 students each year in India.
Interested and capable students may download the application form from the www.sitaramjindalfoundation.org website. The duly filled-in application should reach the institute along with all the necessary documents at the regional address (given below). The last date for submission of application form is 31st December, 2014 for the academic session of 2014/2015. However, from 2015/2016 onwards, the last date for the submission of application form would be 31st of October, every year.
Qualification Criteria
The qualification criteria for the scholarship is given below, under different categories:
Category: Group A
Only for the students of Class IX and XII
BPL students only
Category: Group B
Only for ITI students
No Income Certificates would be required
Category: Group C
Only for the Graduates and above
For employed, annual income should be less than RS four lac. Income Certificate should be issued by the employer.
Category: Group D
Only for the Engineering and Medical students
Income should be less than 2.5 lac per year. Certificate should be issued by a competent authority.
Category: Group E
Only for the Electronics, Electrical, Medical, Mechanical, Environment Scientist, Environment Engineering, Environment Journalist.
Income should not exceed 2.5 lac per annum.
Documents required
Applicants should furnish the following documents along with the application form, as applicable according to the various categories:
- Xerox copies of the last mark-sheet.
- Applicants of the Group A category or the students from classes IX to XII should submit xerox of the BPL along with the application form.
- PH or the physically Handicapped candidates should provide physically handicapped certificate along with the application form.
- Annual Income certificate of the family
- Candidates staying in hostels should submit the application form along with the signature of the hostel authorities.
- Ward/widow of the ex-servicemen should submit PPO, Widow I Card, Relationship Dependency Certificate with the application form.

Private ITI – RS 400
Government ITI – RS 200

Graduate and Postgraduates
Boy – RS 400
Girl – RS 600
PH students – RS 700
Ex-servicemen – RS 800
Orphan unmarried – RS 800
Widow – RS 800
Group D
Medical and Engineering
Graduate (Male) – RS 1000
Graduate (Female) – RS 1200
Postgraduate (Male) – RS 1500
Postgraduate (Female) – RS 1800
Group E
Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Environment Scientist, Environment Engineering, Environment Journalist (male and female)
Male students – RS 700
Female students – RS 800
Residential graduates and postgraduates students, both male and female get RS 400 extra every month. Residential medical and engineering students, both male and female, get RS 600 extra every month.
