Metropolitan city Kolkata has uncountable number of parks/gardens spread over its corners and at its suburbs. However, some of these sets a high standard for the locals and visitors. Recently Life Breezy got the opportunity to visit one of these parks and the experience was simply fabulous. The park is dedicated to the loving people of Kolkata by the Kolkata Police, Government of West Bengal and TATA Steel.

The Elliot Park in Kolkata, under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), covers an area of more than 90,000 square feet and has developed as one of the top rated park in the city. Inaugurated in the year 2004 it's open from 6am to 10pm on all the days of the week. It relishes a central place in the heart of the city on the Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Kankaria Estates, Kolkata – 71 near the Maidan Metro Station. So, it's well-connected with public buses, taxis and the metro for conveyance of the visitors. The entrance/exit of the park is at the opposite of the TATA Centre Kolkata.

On entering the park, you would be transported into a different world – a natural greener world where cleanliness, peace and beauty walk hand in hand. The fresh gush of wind, small water pools, blooming flowers, unique species of trees, shrubs and herbs would nudge and pamper you to spend some quality time with them. The natural beauty and appeal of the place cast a spell that is hard to ignore for sure. For some its the perfect spot for romance, for some it's the choicest space to express their creativity in pen and paper, for some it's the ideal natural zone for studies under the sky while for others it's the most suited location to take snapshots or relax in a peaceful natural green environment.

The locals consider it as the Aladdin’s Magic Lamp for they could relax here or get busy in their routine morning walk/evening walk or jogging for some time every day in-spite of residing nearby in one of the busiest locality in the city. The travellers including weekend trippers consider the visit to the park as an interesting outing to one of their choicest spot. Certainly, it takes some time to believe that such a natural peaceful environment locates in one of the busiest zone of the city.

The park boasts of the largest fountain of Kolkata located in its vicinity. When the fountain gets into action it draws everyone's attention. You may relax yourself in one of the benches and enjoy its splendour until you get satisfied. The clear water of the pool reflects the colour of the sky giving it a vivid look. The ducks and swans playfully wade in and out of the water.

Besides, you may spot some beautiful birds who have made their natural homes in the trees of the spot. Their sight and sweet sounds are pleasant to the eyes and ears. The paths inside the spot is a pleasure to walk through to and fro. As you move ahead you attention would be drawn to the beautiful flowers and shrubs trimmed and groomed on a regular bases. On another small pool of the park, you would notice uncountable tiny lotus flowers spread over the water.

The park has sections that remind of gardens and orchards in rural areas. There are ample sitting spaces available inside at various points in the park. However, people also find pleasure sitting on the green grasses to get a natural feeling of the surrounding. Bathroom and water facility available inside for convenience of the visitors. It a nutshell, it's a well-designed and well-maintained park that gives priority to the interest of the visitors.
