Although one may argue it's not at all a new concept for directors coming from the theatrical background to film making, but one has to accept that there is a fair bit of risk involved in it. However, from a generalised point of view it always carries that extra edge and nudge of creativity that determines success in the long-term at the film making industry. Director Debesh Chattopadhyay has taken a big challenge by shifting his attention from the theatres to the silver screen. For some time now he was busy directing his first film “Natoker Moto” produced by Prabal Haldar and Firdausul Hassan under the Friends Communications. Having done with the shooting the film waiting for a suitable date to finally release.
The story and script written by the director himself. What's sounds more interesting is the film is a mixture of facts and fictions. It's about a female theatre artist who in her hay days rose to the top-notch spot of stardom. She covered her own journey from a simple girl to a woman and then from a woman to a top rated star. However, fortune has its own story to unfold. Unfortunately, her life was cut short at the age of 35 years. She fell down from the lunch-boat and sunk into the river water while shooting for a film. Investigations went on for sometime, but those got subsided with time. The sudden demise of the female artist remained a mystery forever. Was it a suicide, murder, accident or something else? No one knows the reason behind the death of the artist. Moreover, the film also highlights the social-culture prevailing during the time – that is around five to six decades ago. While the film portrays the life, journey and struggle of the female artist, but it's not a biopic in the true sense of the word.

The theme of the story based on the central character of a female theater artist played by actress Pauli Dam. Pauli is playing the character of Kheya Chakraborty in the film. Moreover, she also lend her voice in the songs of the movie. Some of the important characters in the film are Bratya Basu, Saswata Chattopadhyay, Roopa Ganguly, Neil Mukhopadhyay, Rajatava, Chanda Chattopadhyay, Ushasia Chakraborty, Kanchana Moitra. Besides, some of the other theater artists would appear in the film as well.

Moreover, the director Debesh Chattopadhyay has a long time experience in theatres and all his experience, class and touch of creativity is poured to the advantage of the film. Once the movie gets released it would be a treat to watch for the audience – a film that is so close to reality, a film that would indirectly make people to reason and think.
