Education qualification

60 percent marks along with diploma in the Technical and the Mechanical engineering. However, for the schedule caste and schedule tribe it is 50 percent. Preference would be given to candidates who have one year of work experience or one year apprenticeship training in any of the fields of refining, petroleum, power, chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer industries, etc.

General workman-B Trainee category

Turner – 3 seats

Fitter – 3 seats

Mechanic (motor vehicle) – 2 seats

General category – 6 seats

Schedule caste – 1 seat

Schedule tribe – 1 seat

OBC – 3 seats

Educational qualification

Madhyamik (class X) pass or equivalent along with 60 percent marks in the national apprenticeship certificate. For schedule or physically handicap candidates, it is 50 percent. Preference would be given to candidates who won a heavy driving license.

Age: Age should be within 30 years as on 1.1.2014. Age relaxation is given to certain categories of candidates.

Salary: The salary for the designation of workman ranges from RS12, 500 to RS 22,000 and for the workman trainee designation RS 11,500 to RS 20,000. Besides, there are other benefits too.

The selection process is based on written examination and interview. Candidates need to apply online through the www.bpclcareers.in. The centre of examination is Kochi. Besides, candidates need to have a working email ID. The last date for the online application is 15th September, 2014.
