We the youth today, form the major percentage of the global population. We do take a keen interest in new smart phones, careers, movies and love affairs, but do we show the same enthusiasm in politics? Are we aware of the political changes going around us? Do we take out the time to find out what is going around and what we can do to get better results? Very often, we blame the systems or the prevailing political conditions rather acting sensibly that is, to come out and vote for the right candidate.




Of late, we experience the lack of enthusiasm among the youths to come out and have the say in the elections. However, the situation was different in the pre-independence days. In those days, the youths played an important roles in politics. One may vouch that the country was going through hard and difficult times in those days and one reason the youths took the responsibility. However, even today the country is going through different problems, then why we the youths, not keen to take again the responsibilities in our shoulders. We have opportunity in this election to have our vote and say.

Reasons: Why we should vote

As a responsible citizen each of us should have the moral responsibility to vote. We know that each vote counts and a way to our goal. Given below are some of the reasons why we the youths, should vote in this election:

Vote for a stable future

We the youths, are the future of our country. The rise or fall of a country depends to a great extent upon its youth voters. We could bring about a desirable change in the system only through active participation. Let us take the first step by pressing the EVM button in this Poll.

Vote for taking ownership and responsibilities

As youths, we enjoy certain rights and privileges and we are aware of the same. Sometimes, when we restricted from our rights we protest. Unfortunately, sometimes we forget our responsibilities. Voting is responsibility of a responsible youth of today – A responsibility towards oneself as well as the society. Moreover, it is also our right and we should not forget to exercise our right to vote at any cost.

Vote for avoiding wastage

Arrangement for elections in a country like India includes a lot of financial expenses. Wastage of votes means wastage of money and depriving the right candidate from winning. Moreover, we as a general people have to bear the expenses in the long run. Hence, the best bet on the election day is to come out and vote for the right candidate.

Vote for discouraging Proxy voting

If we do not vote, we increase the chances of proxy votes. These proxy votes could play a significant role in the outcome of an election. Its right time now, we discourage proxy voting and this could be possible only when we take the noble initiative to vote.

Vote for political agenda

If we the youth, do not vote we harm our chances in the top priority political agenda. Agendas like youth problems, unemployment, education loans, etc., would get a steep setback. Hence, we should make our presence felt only by casting our vote.

Vote for NOTA

The election has the NOTA or the None Of The Above privilege. If we do not find any of the candidates suitable/capable we could press the NOTA button below. This option also saves a vote from getting wasted. Rather, it saves a positive message to the political parties.

Hope this time many youths take part in the Poll by voting. Many young leaders have already stepped up in the elections and the stage set. If they could motivate and inspire the young brigade, then we could aspect a better result. Let us take the positive initiative from our own side today and cast our precious vote to the right candidate for a better tomorrow.
