Christmas is the holy, and sacred festival of the Christians. People celebrate it on 25th of December, every year. The word Christmas means Christ's Mass, and people, including Christians, and non-Christians, celebrate it globally . On this day, Lord Jesus Christ appeared on this earth. The Yahudis prayed for a Saviour, an ideal king, and someone who could bring them freedom. God fulfilled their wish by sending them an ideal king, and His own son. A son, who ruled the heart of people with love, and care. At that time sins turning people away from God. Lord Jesus Christ took birth to bring them close to God. He was successful in binding the people with love, and kindness. People celebrate 25th December happily as Christmas because of all these reasons.
Story or origin
People are aware of the birth story of the Christ. However, when people read this story they get a source of inspiration, and confidence. The son of Virgin Mary rules in everyone's heart. Joseph, and Mary married, and went to Bethlehem. Since, Bethlehem in those days, thickly crowded they took shelter in a stable. Mary gave birth to Jesus in the stable. The birth of Jesus Christ marks the origin of Christmas festival.
Significance
Lord Jesus led a simple and plain life. He believed hate, and love as the two sons of heart. Men should try to control their instincts, and give importance to develop their inner good qualities. Going to pilgrims not enough, but living an unselfish life matters. His lessons taught people to lead a simple life. He said, heaven belongs with the charitable, good, and kind. A simple, pure, true, and sacred heart could win God. Those who suffer in life because of injustice go to heaven.Serving the poor, and the pity is like serving the Almighty. An unhappy soul is like a lamp that needs to be kindled with the light of hopes. Anyone could rise with simple thoughts, and benign deeds. Moreover, lord Jesus hated sins, but not the sinners.
On this festive occasion, people started the custom of sending, and receiving gifts. This could be, because on this special day, they received a wonderful gift in the form of Jesus Christ from the Almighty God.

Today, days before Christmas people gather around shops to buy gifts for their loved ones. They queue before the bakeshops to place orders for cakes. The shops display Christmas cards, toys, Santa Claus, candles, Christmas trees, and balloons. Big exuberance found in the cyber world as people living anywhere could choose, buy, and send gift items to their beloved ones. The Churches, the houses and the buildings decorated with colorful lights. People assemble in the churches, and pray together. The schools, and colleges close for the Christmas vacation. People tour along with the family, and friends to get away from their routine work, and relax for few days. The spirit gears up the youth, and the aged as the mood paints them in vibrant colors. Among all these, people need to remember the teachings of the lord. They need to follow a righteous life, and live for their fellow beings.
