According to a survey, (carried out by us in the recent past) a huge number of travellers and trippers are opting for budget weekend destinations. To put this in other words, most of us are giving priority to shorter and more frequent destinations these days. And, interestingly, keeping the trend in mind this week we have decided to come up with a value destination located within a couple of hundred kilometres (170 kilometres approximately) away from the Kolkata metropolis.
Deul located in the Bardhaman district of the West Bengal State holds its own significance as a valuable weekend getaway. This is more so because it relates closely to most of the significant things considered as the foundation of human life. The past glory of history, the thought of philosophy and of course the flair of romance still prevails in the breeze, soil and water of the region. Besides, its location at the banks of the Ajoy river earns it the fame of a picture perfect destination. Significantly, the name Deul is originated from the Temple of Ichai Ghosh or the Ichai Ghosher Deul.
Attractions
The temple built of burnt bricks is a significant structure of the Middle Age Bengal Era. This is one reason it’s under the protection of the State Archaeology Department. Deul Park located near Panagarh of the Bardhaman district has become a popular spot for travellers and trippers in no time. However, for the locals, the park is still popular by the name of Ichai Ghosher Deul. At one side of the park, Ajoy river is flowing with dignity while the other side is covered with the deep dense forest.
