IMU CET is a common entrance test recognised by the Indian Maritime University. The campus of the University spread over in the different cities of India like Chennai, Karnataka, Kochi, Kandala, Kolkata (Mari Kolkata), Mumbai (Mari Mumbai) and Visakhapatnam.
IMU CET 2015 would felicitate admission in the following courses as given below. The duration of the courses also given alongside:
• B. Tech Marine Engineering – Course duration is four years
• B. Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering – The course duration is four years
• BSC Nautical Science – The course duration is four years
• BSC Ship Building and Repair – The course duration is three years
• Diploma in Nautical Science leading to BSC Nautical Science
Apart from the admission in above-mentioned streams, it also felicitates admission in MBA, LLM or M. Tech. However, for admission in these post-graduate streams, candidates need to give exams separately.
Qualification Criteria
Candidates who have successfully cleared the 10+2 Science Stream examination in the first attempt qualify for the examination. Besides, candidates who have appeared in the 10+2 Science Stream examination before 31st May of the 2014-2015 calendar year eligible for the examination.
The minimum percentage marks required in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English of the 10+2 Science Stream examination to qualify for the individual courses is given below:
1. Course – DNS Leading to BSC NS
Minimum percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – 60 percent
Minimum percentage of marks in English – 50 percent
2. BSC Nautical Science
Minimum percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – 60 percent
Minimum percentage of marks in English – 50 percent
3. Course – B. Tech. Marine Engineering
Minimum percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – 60 percent
Minimum percentage of marks in English – 50 percent
4. Course – BSC Ship Building and Repairing
Minimum percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – 50 percent
Minimum percentage of marks in English – 60 percent
Age – Candidate’s Date of Birth should be on 1st of August, 1985 or after.
Vision
• For BSC Nautical Science and BSC Maritime Course – The vision of both eyes should be 6/6
Candidates with glasses/specs should not apply.
• For B. Tech. Marine Engineering Course – Eyesight should be normal or plus/minus should be around 2.5 for each of the eye.
Candidates may wear glasses/specs in this case.
Application Procedure
Candidates should only apply online. Normally, candidates need to apply in the month of April and sit for the examination in the month of June.
Fees
Application fees should be deposited by downloading a bank challan. However, candidates may deposit the application fee via the State Bank of India online banking or net banking facility. The application fee for the general category is RS 1000 and for the reserved category is RS 700. After the online application, candidates should take the print out of the application. Candidates should send the printed application, deposit fee challan along with the necessary documents to the following address:

Examination Process
The time duration for IMU CET 2015 is three hours. The questions would be of multiple choice types. From the four given options, candidates need to choose the appropriate option. The subjects along with the full marks given below:

Reservation
The reservation for S.T is 7.5 percent, SC is 15 percent, OBC is 27 percent and physically disabled is 3 percent.
