UPES or University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is a deemed university located at Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand. The ULSAT is a competitive entrance examination organized by the UPES University for admission in the various programs of Law every year. Eligibility Criteria
- Out of the total number of seats, eighty percent of the candidates selected by the U-LSAT 2015 competition examination. The remaining twenty percent selected by the CLAT or the Common Law Admission Test 2015 / LSAT or the Law School Admission Test 2015 on the basis of merit/ marks secured in the examinations.
- Age - Candidates whose date of birth is not before than 1st of October, 1993 could apply for admission in the courses.
- To apply for the U-LSAT 2015 admission test, for admission in the BA, LLB (Hons) /BBA, LLB (Hons) / B.Com, LLB (Hons) courses, candidates should have secured 50 percent marks in class X and X11 or any other equivalent examination.
- To get admission in the above-mentioned courses according to the CLAT 2015 merit / L-SAT 2015 merit, candidates should have passed the Class X11 or equivalent examination with 50 percent marks.
- The CLAT rank of a candidate should be within five thousand.
- If a candidate secures 60 percent marks or above in the L-SAT examination then the candidate may get an exemption from the ULSAT Examination. In this case, the candidate would get a direct chance to qualify for group discussion and the Interview.
- Besides the ULSAT competition, if a candidate secures 85 percent marks in the Class X and X11 examination or any other equivalent recognized board examination in five subjects along with English then the candidate would get a direct call for Group Discussion and the Interview.
Application Process
Candidates could apply in any of the three ways according to their suitability – admission test centres, post/courier or online.
Admission Test Centres– Candidates could collect application form directly from admission test centres in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, etc. Alternatively, they may collect application form from the respective branches of the Axis Bank. Candidates need to pay a sum of RS 1750 for the purchase of the form.
Post/Courier– Candidates may write a request letter to the local post master along with a demand draft of RS 1850 as UPES Fee Amount for an application form
Online – Candidates need to register /sign-in or login with their Facebook account to apply for an application. In this case, candidate needs to pay the UPES Fee Amount of RS 1850 by credit card/debit card. Besides, candidate could also pay the fee amount by a demand draft.
