Auroni Taukhon (2014): Tryst With Destiny

Debutant director Sourav Chakraborty busy directing new Bengali movie, Auroni Taukhon starring Prateik Babbar and Paoli Dam. He has the goodwill of working as an assistant to Ashutosh Gaikwad. The movie, a golden opportunity for the audience, to view Prateik and Paoli pairing up for the first time in a never before Bengali film.

Prateik Babbar plays the character of Mansij while Pauli plays the female lead character Runa in the movie. His character is a special one, as it neither portrays a negative nor a positive role. It gets through a transmutation after going through the unfavourable conditions of life in the movie. Moreover, actor Indraneil plays the character of Sumanto Singha Roy, a crucial role on which the complete story of the film revolves. The full cast and crew of the film as follows:

The film about a love story amidst communal violence stretching within the time span of then years (decade). It goes through various ups/downs including incidences like the Godhra train and the Babri Masjid demolition issues. These incidences mark the time span between which the story of the movie proceeds.

After the Babri Masjid incidence (1992), Runa (Paoli) and her boyfriend Sumanto Singha Roy (Indraneil) get detached from each other. She turns a new leaf in her life and begins her career as a college lecturer. Now everyone knows her by the name Auroni. Manjish (Prateik), though student of Auroni, develops an affection for her in his heart. Here, a twist, and turn begins in the story. Five long years pass by. He comes to know Sumanto after the unexpected Godhra incidence (2002). Sumanto gets badly injured while saving a woman from a group of rowdy people during the incidence. Now, Mansij tries to meet Sumanto Singha Roy. Mansij understands that Auroni loves Sumanto and he reveals about him to her. Soon, the story changes to a triangular love story.

Would Auroni return to Sumanto? Even if she does would he accept him? How would Manjish face Auroni now? For all these answers, you need to wait until the release of the movie.

Though a Bengali movie, but it would get an international release as well. Dubbed in English, it would release with the title, “Tryst With Destiny”. Some of the characters in the story would speak in their local/regional dialects. Hence, it would have the subtitles running for better understanding of the mass audience groups. Besides, there are six melodic songs in the film. One big attraction is the Kathawala song with the Bengali rock fusion sung by the singer Anupam Ray. Besides, the film reveals how unexpected violent incidences affect the life of the common people. Not only the full production unit, but the general audience has greater expectation from the movie as they waiting for the release for the movie. Let's hope the movie does excellent job at the box-office.
