 Chhibo, a small village located 7 kilometres from the Kalimpong in Darjeeling, covered with the thick growth of the of the Dhupi and Pine trees. Small houses producing illusion of small boxes resting on the mountain slopes. The Kanchenjunga mountain, one highest mountain of the world, stands up from the surrounding greenery stretching its head high and dazzles the eyes with its icy cap. Different types of cactus hold a permanent place in the courtyard of the houses of the village. The villagers nurture those with care as one of their precious belongings. Majority of the population consist of different religions including the Hindus and they are bind together with the thread of love and respect for each other. They are simple, helpful and loving people. With the increase in the number of tourists over the years, the place getting transformed slowly but steadily. The muddy paths of the villages leading to the schools, colleges and workshops changed into concrete with the help of Chhibo Busty Development Trust Besides, the agricultural plots on the mountain consist of different plantations attract attention of the visitors.

Houses on the hilly slopes
Walk in small steps to reach the Durpin Dara View Point. Get to the top and notice, far at the distance, lies the Namchi in Sikkim and a new spot called Char Dham. The view of flowers decorating the mountain and the sweet chirping of the birds soothe both the eyes and ears. Besides, one could enjoy trekking on the hills. How to reach

For comfortable journey trains from the Howrah and Sealdah Station available for the Jalpaiguri. Besides, buses available from the Dharmatala Bus Terminus of Kolkata for the Siliguri. From here, buses and hired cabs available for the Kalimpong. The Chhibo Village lies 7 kilometres away from the Kalimpong.

Lodging/stay

Not much hotels/Inns available here for suitable lodging of the visitors. It has to go a long way when it comes about providing suitable lodging to the visitors. However, the Chhibo Inn is the only accommodation available for suitable stay in the small Chhibo Village. Rent for the rooms range from RS 1200 to RS 2000.
