The New Nokia X Smartphone: Review, Specification and Features

Nokia's first mobile phone running Android is out in the market now. The design and interface have been up to the mark and no matter what this product selling and winning the hearts of smart phone lovers. However, the question that quavers the mind – Is the mobile manufacturing giant, Nokia, late in joining the Android segment?

The new Nokia X has the 115.5X63X10.4 mm dimension and weighs 128.7 grams. Though one may vouch it nowhere near anyone of those ultra slim devices on the market now, but on the outset it looks solid in looks and design which counts indeed. Moreover, the colourful plastic body adds a tinge of beauty to the device. The 4.0 inch display screen has the only touch button below, Power on/off button on the right, a dedicated USB port and an Audio Jack on the lower side. The 3.0 inch mega pixel rear camera locates at the back of the plastic body. Moreover, the back panel reveals a dual Sims tray and the slot for memory card.

Hardware features

Though Nokia X not an ideal phone for high-resolution gaming, however, one can enjoy the lighter ones. It has the Dual Core Snapdragon processor and limited to 512 MB RAM. Besides, the 4 GB internal memory expandable to 32 GB with expandable memory card. It connects aptly with GPRS, EDGE and 3G HSDPA/HSUPA. The speed in HSDPA is 7.2 Mbps and in HSUPA is 5.76 Mbps It is in the legacy of the bar form factor mobile with two fingers touch screen. It uses 1500 mAh Li-ion battery with talk time of 13 hours 20 minutes in 2G mode and 10 hours 30 minutes in 3G mode.

Software features

It runs on Nokia X Software platform as the operating system. It has the tiled interface with applications listed on the home screen. The only back button, below the screen, sophisticated to go to the previous screen or the home screen. Though it misses the Google Play application (found in most of the smart phones today), but this has been compensated with its own Nokia Store. The Nokia Store loaded with great new applications. Beyond any doubt, it is one of the best smart phones available in the market today for comfortable web browsing, videos and social networking purposes. The music player supports file of MP3, WAV, eAAC+, Flac formats while the video player supports file of MP4, etc formats. Moreover, the Mix Radio connects one to the vast library of music.

Price and colour

The price of Nokia X in the Indian market ranges from RS 7500 to RS 8500. The Nokia X smart phones available in the black, red, yellow, white and cyan.

Conclusion

A decent smart phone for the Android users with a solid make. Web browsing, music (Music player+FM radio), mail, social networking, Nokia Store all binds the users into an innovative interface. The solidity and colourful design that most of the Y Generation users look for blended in the device. However, the price playing a decisive role here. If an end-user gets a new Android/Windows mobile paying a bit less than what this device costs, obviously, he/she would like to have that Android/Windows mobile in the pocket.
